A Phenomenal Month of Sport at Dollis!
It has been an incredibly busy, fun, and successful few weeks for our pupils-athletes here at Dollis Primary. From inclusive tournaments to muddy cross-country runs and prestigious cricket matches, our children have showcased incredible effort, teamwork, and school spirit.
Silver at the Barnet Panathlon
On 10th February we kicked off a great month of sport by competing in the Barnet Panathlon. This fantastic, inclusive event allowed our children to try their hands at a range of unique and exciting sports, including kurling, tri-golf, and boccia. The team put in an incredible amount of effort, supported each other beautifully, and walked away with a highly impressive second place overall.
Mud, Sweat, and Medals at the Barnet Cross Country
Just two days later, our runners took on the Barnet Cross Country. Despite facing incredibly muddy and challenging conditions, our pupils showed brilliant resilience and pushed through to the finish line. Thanks to everyone's determination, Dollis Primary secured second place overall in Barnet!
A special shoutout goes to our outstanding individual runners who placed in their categories:
-
Ariana: 1st Place (Year 5 Girls) 🥇
-
Mohib: 2nd Place (Year 5 Boys) 🥈
-
Darcie: 3rd Place (Year 4 Girls) 🥉
-
Sofia: 3rd Place (Year 5 Girls) 🥉
Fun on the Pitch at the BPET Football Tournament
Later in the month on 26th February, our fantastic Year 3 and Year 4 students travelled to compete in the BPET Football Tournament. It was wonderful to see the children having so much fun on the pitch while enjoying friendly competition against pupils from other BPET schools. Everyone played with smiles on their faces and did a brilliant job representing Dollis!
Semi-Finalists at the Home of Cricket!
To cap it all off, at the beginning of March, we had the fantastic opportunity of competing in the semi-finals of the London Cricket Competition. Even more excitingly, the event was held at the historic Lord's Cricket Ground! Our pupils rose to the occasion, doing a phenomenal job and competing to the absolute best of their ability on such a grand stage.
Well done to all students and our Year 2 and PE lead Mr Basford for making all these possible!
