Our new look

We are delighted to present our new logo and website!

It all started when...

... we merged Dollis Junior and Dollis Infant schools in 2019. The merge saw the creation of the old round logo in green and yellow, which has been displayed online and on our school premises for the past five years.

The merge also saw the creation of a school motto, with the purpose to focus efforts and give us direction: Excellence in all we do. Shaping attitudes, efforts and ambitions.

This motto applies to our pupils as much as it applies to our staff, who strive to model excellence in everything they do, is ambitious and aim to bring out the best in our children through excellent education.

Dollis sits within a competitive area of highly performing primary schools, and this gives us inspiration and motivation to improve ourselves, and continually revise our educational offer.

Ambition and inspiration

With this framework in mind, in September 2024 we decided to join the Bellevue Place Education Trust, a multi-academy trust with highly performing schools and a strong improvement offer, and therefore perfectly aligned with our way of working and continuously improving.

We decided to review our logo again, this time in order to incorporate the views of our pupils and parents, and so that our identity - past and future - could shine through it:

  • The key stone of our curriculum is Reading, and you'll find a book in the top left quadrant of the shield
  • Our pupils are the very reason why teachers decide to embark on their careers, and they are represented on the top right quadrant. The design here is a nod to the old logo, as a sign of respect to our history
  • The musical key in the bottom right quadrant is a reflection that music is a fundamental subject for us. We are proud of our music provision, which is very strong with our children going to perform yearly at the Royal Albert Hall!
  • Lastly, our new D, chosen by our pupils

After a wide selection of ideas and colour palettes were explored, pupils, parents and local governors voted for the logo you can see on this page.

New Uniform

For the same reasons and with the same intention to instil focus, effort and ambition in our children, we consulted them - as well as a number of parents and the local governors - with the idea of adopting a new uniform.

This is to reinforce our ambitious aims and targets, to promote equality as well as a sense of belonging. The new uniform can be seen here, and will come into force from September 2025.

The Chair of the Local Governing Board, Joshua Kane said: "I have been involved with Dollis as Chair of the governors since 2017, and lived through several evolutions of the school and its identity. I'm delighted that we have all had the opportunity to contribute in visually defining our own aspirations, embracing what we have done well so far - keeping a similar colour scheme and elements of the old logo - but wanting to build on that for the future. The new logo, the new website and the new uniforms give us motivation and direction to strive for excellence".
